Optometrists are people you would normally meet at the eye clinic or hospital, but what are they like outside of work? What do you know about them? We decided to hound our resident optometrists and ask them three questions each, because of their busy schedules. Here are their answers:

Dr Paul Ese Ikretsero

Dr Paul has a winning smile and found our questions interesting. We just want to know how he stays in shape with the kind of work he does.

Q1: What’s your favourite movie or TV series?

My favourite TV series is Game of Thrones.

Q2: With your busy schedule, what’s your exercise regime like?

Exercise… that would be push-ups, especially in the morning.

Q3: If you had to choose another profession, what would it be and why?

If I had to choose, I think business administration would be interesting.

Dr Jeme Adomi

Dr Jeme just shook her head and laughed at our questions. She loves reading so we wanted to know her preferences, among other things.

Q1: What’s your favourite book?

Lord of the Rings. I can read it over and over again. I have read it four times and watched it more times than that.

Q2: Where would you love to travel to for a holiday?

Anywhere that has lots of bookstores and I can try out different kinds of new and interesting foods.

Q3: What has been your biggest challenge as a doctor?

Working with people who don’t value optometrists, and leading people. But this has also provided my greatest victories; making those same people who didn’t initially value optometrists see the expertise and need for an optometrist, and seeing my team meet and exceed expectations.

You can see why these doctors rock! They are Tolkien and R. R. Martins fans! Do you have any questions for them? Write it in the comments section and we will find a way to get their answers.
