Although the lockdown has been lifted, the battle to flatten the curve of the COVID-19 virus is still on. The Federal and State governments have directed that safety and precautionary measures be put in place and strictly adhered to as we go about our daily business.

With that in mind, here are some guidelines for your safety while on our premises as work resume in phases and the economy is cautiously rekindled.

NOTE: The list is by no means exhaustive and will be amended as required.

Guidelines for patients:

  • Clinic hours are from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
  • Patients are encouraged to take advantage of our online consultation platform rather than coming to the clinic. Call in and schedule your appointments. (08023372414, 09030522036)
  • Patients are to have their masks on, and hands washed/sanitised BEFORE entering the hospital. This is to ensure that sanitation begins before entry, and the front door handle at the entryway is not compromised.
  • Any patient that does not come with a mask will have one provided for them at a cost.
  • No more than ten patients (and a maximum of one escort each) should be in the hospital at a time. The security guard will issue number tags to patients when necessary. Once there are enough patients in the building, subsequent patients are given number tags and encouraged to wait in their cars or the car park. Once a patient leaves the building, the next patient can then go in.
  • Inside the hospital, patients should sit where instructed and should maintain as best as they can, 1-2 metres between themselves and others while waiting.
  • Cash transactions should be discouraged. The use of fund transfer is encouraged.
  • Any patient (or escort) exhibiting COVID symptoms or any form of ill health should please see their physician before coming to the eye clinic.

If you have a symptom of COVID-19

  • It is critical that if you have one symptom of COVID-19 (fever, cough or difficulty breathing), or even mild symptoms, stay home to avoid spreading illness to others.
  • If you develop even mild symptoms while at the hospital, separate yourself from others and go home, avoiding the use of public transport (e.g. buses, taxi, etc.) if possible.
  • Contact NCDC (Toll-free: 080097000010, Mobile: 07036708970, SMS: 08099555577, WhatsApp: 07087110839) and follow their advice.

We wish everyone good health as we look forward to seeing our patients at the clinic.
